About once per Saturn year, the calm, hazy planet erupts: a brilliant white storm bursts through the cloud deck and stretches until it wraps around the entire globe like a pearl necklace. Cassini had a front row seat for the 2010 outbreak, watching lightning flicker inside it. Saturn saves up its weather for decades, then spends it all at once.
