Virgo Cluster
GALAXY CLUSTER · our local metropolis
The nearest big city of galaxies, around two thousand of them swarming in the constellation Virgo. Its center holds the giant M87 with its photographed black hole. The Virgo Cluster's gravity is so great that it tugs on our whole Local Group, including the Milky Way: we are very slowly falling toward it, with billions of years left on the clock.
