
The second heaviest body in the asteroid belt, and almost a small planet: Vesta has a crust, a rocky mantle and an iron core, just like Earth. A colossal impact at its south pole blasted out debris that still rains down on Earth today as meteorites, which means you can hold a piece of Vesta in a museum. The Dawn spacecraft mapped it up close.
