The larger of Mars' two little moons, a dark potato of rock marked by the big Stickney crater. Phobos races around Mars faster than the planet spins, so from the surface you would see it rise in the west. It is slowly spiraling inward, and in about 50 million years it will break apart and give Mars a short lived ring.
