The first planetary nebula ever discovered, and one of the easiest to spot with a small telescope, glowing in the constellation of the little fox. Its two bright lobes give it the dumbbell name. Like all planetary nebulae it has nothing to do with planets: it is a sun like star gently shedding its skin at the end of its life.
