The first evidence of a giant planet around a white dwarf, found in a grim way: the dead star's spectrum shows a steady rain of hydrogen, oxygen and sulfur, the vapor of a Neptune like planet being slowly boiled away by its tiny, fierce sun. The planet survived its star's death, only to be evaporated by the remains.
