The faintest zodiac constellation, a dim crab easily washed out by city lights, but it hides a gem: the Beehive cluster M44, a swarm of hundreds of stars visible to the naked eye as a misty patch on dark nights. Galileo aimed his first telescope at it and was astonished to see the mist dissolve into stars.
