A modest pair of orange dwarf stars with a giant place in history: in 1838 Friedrich Bessel measured its tiny yearly wobble against the background sky and calculated its distance, the first time a human ever knew how far away a star truly is. That measurement turned the night sky from a painted dome into a three dimensional ocean.
