With Zhurong, China became the second country to drive a rover on Mars, and the first to manage orbiter, lander and rover in a single first mission. The rover crossed the plains of Utopia and found hints that water shaped this ground more recently than expected. Its name honors an ancient god of fire, a fitting match for the red planet.
