One of the fastest stars known, a compact helium star moving so quickly that the Milky Way's gravity cannot hold it: it is on a one way trip into intergalactic space. Its launch was spectacular, most likely the recoil from its partner star detonating as a supernova right beside it. A star fired like a cannonball.
