Right now the solar system is drifting through a wisp of slightly denser interstellar gas affectionately called the Local Fluff. It is still emptier than any vacuum chamber on Earth, but our heliosphere visibly leans against its breeze. Interstellar space has weather too; this is the cloud we happen to be flying through this epoch.
