WHERE 60 degrees behind EarthDREAMED OF as a space colony site

The mirror twin of L4, trailing sixty degrees behind Earth, equally stable and equally good at collecting cosmic flotsam. In the 1970s, physicist Gerard O'Neill made L5 famous as the proposed home of giant rotating space colonies, and a whole L5 Society campaigned for it. The colonies remain unbuilt; the parking spot is still waiting.
