A very old red dwarf that orbits the Milky Way in the wrong direction, against the flow of nearly everything else. It probably was not born here at all: Kapteyn's Star likely belonged to a small galaxy our Milky Way devoured long ago, possibly the same one whose remains form Omega Centauri. An immigrant from a swallowed world, living quietly next door.
