The finest globular cluster of the northern sky, a snow globe of hundreds of thousands of ancient suns in the constellation Hercules. In 1974 humanity beamed its first deliberate radio message at M13, a postcard with our address and a sketch of ourselves. If anyone there replies instantly, the answer arrives in about 50,000 years.
