A young cluster whose brightest stars really do outline a Christmas tree, standing upside down in the northern sky with a brilliant star as the trunk light. The same region contains the dark Cone Nebula like a giant ornament. Infrared telescopes show the decorations still being manufactured: baby stars wrapped in glowing dust.
