SUPERNOVA REMNANT · the youngest wreckage
The expanding wreck of the most recent supernova in our galaxy, and the loudest radio source in the sky beyond the Sun. Strangely, hardly anyone on Earth seems to have noticed the explosion around 1680, perhaps because dust dimmed it. Today telescopes watch its glowing shrapnel fly apart, with freshly forged elements like oxygen and iron, future ingredients for new worlds.
