A tall kite of stars anchored by golden Arcturus, the brightest star of the northern celestial hemisphere. Find it easily: follow the curve of the Big Dipper's handle and arc to Arcturus. The Herdsman drives the Great Bear around the pole, an image so old that it may go back to the ice age. Behind his stars yawns the famous Boötes Void.
