SPACE TELESCOPE · the all sky planet hunter
Kepler's successor with the opposite strategy: instead of staring deeply at one patch, TESS sweeps almost the entire sky, hunting planets around the brightest, closest stars. Those nearby worlds are the perfect targets for the James Webb telescope to study in detail. TESS has already found thousands of candidates, including the TOI-700 system with Earth sized worlds.
