The smaller sibling of the two Magellanic Clouds, a misty patch of hundreds of millions of stars in the far southern sky. A bridge of gas connects it to its larger sibling, evidence that the two little galaxies have been tugging at each other for ages. Studying stars here helped astronomers first learn to measure distances across the universe.
