The moon with one of the wildest orbits anywhere: Nereid swings from 1.4 million to 9.6 million kilometers away from Neptune on every single lap, which takes almost an Earth year. Its crazy path is probably a scar from the day Neptune captured Triton, an event that threw the whole original moon family into chaos.
