Janus shares almost exactly the same orbit with its sibling moon Epimetheus, and every four years they perform a trick found nowhere else: as the inner one catches up, the two gently trade places, the inner moon moving out and the outer moving in. They never collide. It is the slowest, calmest game of leapfrog in the solar system.
