7b. Neutron Star or Black Hole

Two possible endings for a giant: a neutron star, the core crushed into a spinning ball twenty kilometers wide and impossibly dense, often flashing as a pulsar; or, for the heaviest stars, total collapse into a black hole, a region where gravity outruns light itself. Either way, the story loops back: the supernova's scattered elements drift into clouds, the clouds collapse, and step one begins again.
