For two months in late 2024, Earth briefly had a second moon: this bus sized rock was loosely captured by our gravity, swung once around, and slipped away again. Its material also resembles the Moon's, another possible lunar fragment coming home for a visit. Tiny temporary moons like this probably happen far more often than we notice.
