A larger telescope is sharper because diffraction shrinks with aperture. Rayleigh criterion: θ = 1.22 λ/D. Shorter wavelengths and larger apertures resolve smaller angles. Atmospheric seeing adds blur in quadrature, so a space telescope or adaptive optics can outperform a much larger ground telescope in ordinary seeing. The simulator shows two Airy-like profiles merging or separating as parameters change.
