The brighter half of our nearest neighbor pair, and astonishingly familiar: a yellow star of nearly the Sun's size, temperature and color. Standing on a planet there, you would find the sunlight comfortingly homelike, with one difference: a second brilliant sun, Alpha Centauri B, hanging elsewhere in the sky.
