
The fiery orange eye of Taurus the Bull. Aldebaran looks like the brightest member of the V shaped Hyades star cluster behind it, but that is a trick of perspective: the star sits at less than half the cluster's distance, simply passing in front. It is a retired sun, puffed up and glowing warmly. The Pioneer 10 probe is drifting in its direction, due in about two million years.
